This Is Some Year! Wow!

I am so glad that this semester is about to be over. We are now entering in the seasons where families come together to celebrate the holidays. We are about to enjoy some good ole fashion cooking with dressing, turkey, ham, sweet potato pies, and all other great foods. It is amazing that we can only celebrate this only on special occasions rather than most of the time. Enjoying family is important. Christmas, and thanksgiving should not be the only times we can get together as family and put aside petty differences to enjoy. As the apostle Paul would write, put behind me the past and focus on the future. This was not his exact words, but the meaning is all the same. The fair is here and almost gone again.  We are about to enter into the month of November celebrating thanksgiving. I am looking forward to enjoying the rest of this year with family and friends and just excited about our future. I encourage focus on your dreams and reach for the stars. I hope everyone is having a great week and weekend. I am taking my family to the fair this weekend as promised and just enjoy quality time with them. Yes, it is that time of the year for celebrations and restorations. Everyone be blessed!

  2. I think I gained twenty pounds just reading the beginning of this blog. I love my grandmother's cooking and can't wait to get to Shreveport for Thanksgiving dinner. I am also ready for this semester to end because I will be able to move back to Shreveport and finish my senior year. Happy Holidays!

  3. I always fry two or three turkey each holiday for my family. This Thanksgiving it may be five, my family is inviting some out of town folks to our celebration.

  4. Yes, we are beginning the season of "seasons." Halloween seems to usher in all of the "food" holidays (except for Easter, of course). Keb Mo has a good song for family gatherings:

  5. I am excited about the holidays as well. I will be spending Thanksgiving Day in Dallas at the Saints vs. Cowboys game. So I am ready for that, then we will do Thanksgiving dinner the next day. I can’t wait to eat all the good food. Have a good one.
